Bed bugs get their name because they are commonly found in beds but can also be found in other places where humans spend a lot of time: hotels, hospitals, dormitorys, airplanes and feed on the blood of any warm-blooded animal. Their most common targets are humans because we have a lot of exposed skin for them to bite.Bed bugs are typically found in beds and small cracks and crevices. Bed bugs are one of the most difficult pests to control and if you’re not careful, you may end up throwing your bed, couch, and other pieces of costly furniture, out the door.

Bed bugs can be harder to treat than other household pest insects for a few reasons.  Bed bugs are not attracted to baits like roaches or ants so as must to take the treatments directly to them.  Another challenge bedbugs present is their ability to quickly become resistant to synthetic pyrethroids. While other insects may build up resistance to this chemical group, bedbugs seem to be able to do so exceptionally fast.

It is likely that the house may need to be treated in attics, all wall voids and may even recommend doing a whole house heat treatment or spot spray to eliminate the bedbugs.
